38 weeks

This is me at 38 weeks. Jeff took this Sunday outside of Barnes & Noble. I had my 38-week appointment Tuesday and once again, no progress as far as dilation is concerned. Frustrating! I get checked again next Tuesday so I'll post my progress then. Everybody keep your fingers and toes crossed please!!!

Big Mama

Swollen much? This was how huge my feet were this past Saturday. They got that big the day before and didn't go down very much until today. I have only been able to wear flip flops, but today I got to put on my tennis shoes finally.

I had my 36-week appointment this past Tuesday and there isn't much to report. Cervix has softened a little bit, but there is no dilation yet. Maybe we'll have some progress next week. To be continued......

32-weeks!!

I had my 32-week checkup yesterday and I'm measuring right on schedule so we're good to go. I had a bunch of stupid questions for my doctor like, "So what do I do when I start having contractions or my water breaks?" or "What does a contraction feel like?" I seriously have no idea. These questions were triggered by a pregnant lady who came into the office with contractions three minutes apart (who also made me cry - it was that kind of day yesterday). That really confused me because I thought you go to the ER or something when you start having contractions. Turns out they actually do like you to come up to the office first to make sure you're in labor (I guess they don't want to walk downstairs?). The nurse told me just to go to the third floor to the labor and delivery desk and to call when I'm on my way. That appeals to me way more because people were just gawking at the in-labor pregnant lady as if she was going to drop that baby right there. I realized I haven't really posted a picture on here of my pregnant self so maybe I will do that soon. My first baby shower is March 13th so I'll post one of those pictures. Got to get my digital camera software up and running first. I'm starting to feel pretty massive these days so I'm not excited about having my picture taken.
Until then....

P.S. House is moving along great. They are bricking now so I will post a pic when they are through with that. I so wish I could set up her room.......

Luca

This is Luca.

He and I have been together for eight years. He absolutely worships me (okay, Jeff likes to call it borderline obsession) and follows me wherever I go. I am a little worried about how Luca is going to adjust to the baby when we bring her home. Judging from past experience, he's not the biggest fan of babies, especially crawling babies. They make him very nervous. I have been watching lots of The Dog Whisperer thinking that if I learn exactly how to say "Shh" Luca will fall in love with the baby and everything will be great. So maybe I'm in denial a little bit..... But he looks pretty harmless, right?

And the thing is, children LOVE LUCA. He is little and cute and all they want to do is hold him, which I usually have to turn down due to Luca's trembling. He has been my "baby" for a long time now and I sincerely hope that he can be a big boy and somehow fall in love with our daughter. How is she going to resist this?

Besides, he really likes females. Jeff calls him a "girl dog." The white object he is laying on is a white "Chewy Vuitton" purse he received from his Aunt Amy. It's his favorite thing to fetch.

As Jeff and I were loving on Luca last night, I asked Jeff to please give him lots of love once the baby gets here and all of my attention is on her.

Here's hoping for the best......

In the snow....

This is our house in the snow. FYI, The blue and yellow paint you see are NOT the colors of our house. That is simply paint primer. They are through framing it and I think the roof is almost complete. Jeff said they should start bricking next week. Yay!!!!

4D

Here is our little girl!!! It's kind of weird that you can't see her eyes, but we loved seeing her little nose and mouth. Paying the extra money for the 4D is so worth it!!! This truly made everything even more real and it was such a relief to see her. We have a video clip of the 4D that I'll try and figure out how to post.
